The Malad High School Ag department has experienced significant enrollment growth over the past 2 years. With the implementation of welding certification opportunities offered to all students, students are graduating ready to advance in college or career-ready in welding skills.
The Ag department has been working hard to keep up with equipment and supply demands for the shop. With the overall demand for classes offered in the shop, we have increased our shop booth numbers, personal protective equipment, and welding machines thanks to several grants.
The Ag Welding program has received $53,400 in grant money in 2022 and 2023. In efforts to keep up with industry standards and get our students ready to join the workforce, five new Millermatic welders have been purchased to help accommodate for the increase in class size, and a grant was received to purchase a CNC plasma Table. (See photo below) Malad High School Ag Welding program is growing thanks to the continuous support and interest of students, families, the FFA, and the community.
We hope to continue to grow and offer as many opportunities to our students as possible, please reach out to Mrs.Evans at MaladHigh School with any questions or to find out more about how you can support the growth!
