Dear Parent,
Southeastern Idaho Public Health (SIPH) will be holding a vaccination clinic for all incoming 7th graders on August 10th from 9:00 to 1:00 at Malad Middle School. This clinic will take place in conjunction with school registration. We will be offering the following recommended preventative immunizations:
Meningococcal ACWY: To prevent meningococcal disease (infections of the brain, spinal cord, blood, and other tissues) caused by serogroups A, C, W, and Y. Most adolescents receive a dose at 11-12 years of age. A booster dose will be recommended at 16-18 years of age.
Tdap: To prevent tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough).
HPV: To prevent cancers of the throat, tongue, tonsils, and reproductive systems. This is a two-dose series. The Centers for Disease Control, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommends that all adolescents get vaccinated with Gardasil to ensure they are protected before they could be exposed to the virus, although it is not required for school entrance.
If your child is missing a dose of other childhood vaccines (Hep A or B, MMR, varicella, or polio) we can also catch them up at this time.
A parent must be present and should bring the child’s insurance information and immunization record, if available.
Routine vaccines are normally covered by a student’s private health insurance, or Medicaid. The cash price is $20.13 per shot. If a child is without insurance coverage or the ability to pay, they will not be turned away, and SIPH will work with each family to ensure vaccinations are completed.
Immunization appointments can also be scheduled Monday-Thursday during the summer at the Malad SIPH office by calling 208-234-5887. Please contact Taia Murray, RN at this number with any questions or concerns.

Dear Parents, Students, and Community Members,
We would like to remind everyone of an important safety protocol during arrival and dismissal times at the Middle School and High School. When a staff member is holding a Stop Sign at the entrance or exit of the parking lot, all traffic must come to a complete stop. This signal is in place to protect not only the staff members from directing traffic, but also the students riding our buses.
We ask that you do not attempt to pull out in front of the buses or dart past them while they are entering or leaving the school grounds. The safety of our students and staff depends on everyone’s cooperation and patience. Ignoring the stop sign or failing to stop may result in a citation.
