We have received reports of a phishing text message circulating. The text says someone at your school sent you a compliment, and that you should follow the link or text to opt out. Report the text as Spam/Junk and DO NOT RESPOND or CLICK THE LINK.
***
This is a phishing tactic to immediately grab your Contact Information from your address book the minute you click the link or respond. Once it has your data, it sends a similar message to everyone in your contacts.
***
DO NOT CLICK THE LINK or RESPOND OPT OUT. Just mark it as Spam/Junk and Delete it.

This scam is currently circulating in other states like Oregon and Arkansas.

Today we had a case of lice reported to the school. It was caught early but we wanted to inform you of this so that you can check your children’s hair when they get home. We also wanted to provide you with some tips that can help us prevent an outbreak of lice. The first thing we can do is place backpacks into a garbage bag that is tied tightly over the weekend. There are also essential oils that help repel lice. These include tea tree oil, lemongrass, eucalyptus, and rosemary. Finally, if your child has long hair, they can wear it in braids or a ponytail. Thank you for your help.

We would like to thank an anonymous doner, American Legion Auxiliary, and Malad Elementary PTO for providing supplies and funds for supplies to help our families this school year. With these donations the school was able to purchase almost all needed supplies. Please see the school supply lists for all grades that was emailed to parents. Approximately 75 backpacks were also donated and will be available on a first come first serve basis on our back to school open house Monday, Aug 10 from 1pm to 3pm. As always if you need help with the supplies that are listed, please contact the school.
