“All Things Senior Night,” held Monday, October 19, in the MHS Commons, was a major success. Seniors and their families gathered for an informative evening focused on upcoming deadlines, postsecondary planning, and hands-on FAFSA assistance.
Strong participation from students, parents, and guardians helped make the event productive and engaging. Families arrived prepared and received practical support for the important months ahead.
Senior Projects and Community Night
Attendees received a detailed overview of Senior Projects and their deadlines. Mrs. Lexie Evans and Mrs. Kami Willie emphasized that all Seniors are required to attend Community Night on November 30, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. Seniors were reminded to arrive at 5 p.m. to set up before the program begins.
Families also learned that each senior must have a trifold display for Community Night. The $8 cost includes the display board and a printed infographic designed by the student.

College Application Day
Mrs. Kami Willie and Mrs. Nacona Smith reviewed College Application Day, scheduled for October 26 during students’ government classes. Seniors were encouraged to apply to colleges or trade schools even if their plans remain uncertain, since applications may often be deferred to a later start date.
Families Receive FAFSA Support
A highlight of the evening was the hands-on FAFSA support available to families. Staff helped participants begin the application process using their charged devices, Social Security numbers, and 2025 tax information.
Scholarship Opportunities
The program also highlighted scholarship opportunities shared through emails from Nacona. Seniors were urged to apply widely, even if their future plans are still developing, because some awards may be deferred for up to three years.
With strong attendance, valuable guidance and direct assistance for families, “All Things Senior Night” proved to be a major success and gave MHS seniors greater confidence as they prepare for graduation and life after high school.
