Five sessions, a world of possibilities! Students explored future career paths during a day of workshops and a traditional career fair. With options ranging from Cosmetology to Pediatric Dentistry, each student chose five sessions to discover where their interests might lead. The workshop lineup offered plenty to explore:
Cosmetology
Business Management & Entrepreneurship Technology
Precision Ag
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Real Estate
Vet
Electrician
FBI
Anthropology
Athletic Trainer
Auto Sales & Service
CFO of Planet Fitness Australia
Commercial Music
Equine Therapy
HVAC
KSL - Video Broadcasting
Paralegal Studies
Pediatric Dentistry
The career exploration didn’t stop when the workshops ended. Next up was the gym, where students visited career-fair booths featuring all types of participants and different colleges coming to recruit MHS students. It was another chance to discover possibilities beyond their five chosen sessions.
The day also welcomed the Idaho Enterprise and a brief visit from Senator Kelly Anthon. A big thank-you goes to the visitors and community participants who joined students for this celebration of future possibilities.
Behind the day’s many opportunities was more than three months of preparation by Kami Willie, the MHS College & Career Advisor. A special thank-you goes to Kami for bringing the workshops and career fair together and giving students so many paths to explore.
Now it’s time to bring the conversation home! Families are encouraged to ask students which sessions they chose, what surprised them and which careers sparked their curiosity. For students who did not attend, the day was a missed chance to explore careers and connect with colleges and community participants. Parents and guardians can help by making attendance a priority and reminding students that career exploration matters. MHS is opening doors through opportunities like this career fair—showing up is the first step toward discovering what’s on the other side. The event may be over, but the possibilities are just beginning.
