Our Journey

Every school building has a story, but the story of Malad Elementary School is about much more than bricks, classrooms, and hallways. It is a story about generations of students, teachers, staff members, families, and a community that has grown and changed together.

For many years, the former Malad Elementary School was an important part of our community. Thousands of children walked through its doors, learned in its classrooms, played with friends, attended school programs, and created memories that stayed with them long after they moved on to middle school and beyond. For teachers and staff, it was a place where countless hours were spent helping children learn and grow. For parents and grandparents, it was often a familiar building—sometimes even the same school they had attended years earlier. Eventually, however, the time came for Malad Elementary to begin a new chapter.

Saying Goodbye

Watching the old school come down was bittersweet. A building that had been part of Malad for so many years slowly disappeared, taking with it familiar classrooms, hallways, and spaces remembered by generations of students. But while the building could be torn down, the memories made inside it could not. The friendships, teachers, programs, traditions, and everyday moments that made Malad Elementary special remain part of our school's history.

Building for the Future

As the old building came down, something new began to take its place. Construction brought months of change as the site was transformed and a new Malad Elementary School began to take shape. Walls went up, classrooms appeared, and little by little, the future home of our students became a reality. The new school was designed for the children who attend Malad Elementary today while also preparing for the generations who will follow them. Soon, students were able to walk through the doors of a brand-new school and begin creating a completely new collection of memories.

The Next Chapter

Although our building has changed, the heart of Malad Elementary remains the same. It is still the students filling the hallways with laughter. It is the teachers helping children discover something new. It is school programs, recess, friendships, celebrations, challenges, and all of the little moments that become treasured memories as the years pass. One day, today's students will look back at photographs of this school and remember what it was like to grow up here, just as generations before them remember the old Malad Elementary.

Our school has changed.
