Parents and supporters of public virtual charter schools — we need you to act NOW.
On Monday, Debbie Critchfield, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and Senator Cook are proposing over $3 million in cuts to Idaho’s virtual public charter schools for computers and internet. These schools serve 86% at-risk students, and these cuts could seriously threaten the future of the programs families rely on every day. Funding for virtual schools helps provide essential resources for students — including computers and internet access that make learning possible. Legislators need to hear directly from parents whose children depend on these schools. You can let the legislators know: “My child attends an Idaho virtual public school. Cutting funding from Idaho virtual schools will take away important resources from our children, including computers and internet access. Please oppose the proposed $3 million in cuts to my child’s school.”
